What is marketing?

From a functional perspective, marketing (obsolete marketing) refers to the corporate area that deals with the creation and design of exchange processes, i.e. the sale of goods or services produced on a market. The task of marketing is to generate profits by satisfying the needs and desires of the consumer by placing the right goods, at the right price, in the right market, with the right sales promotion measures. These results in the four P’s / (4Ps) of the marketing mix: “Product, Price, Place, and Promotion”. From a functional point of view, all marketing measures can be assigned to these four areas.
